Daniel Defense is the Sole Source Provider of the RIS II to the United States Special Operations Command!
The Daniel Defense Rail Interface System (RIS II) was designed at the request of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II program. SOCOM had a specific requirement for a free float M203 solution and Daniel Defense responded, designing a revolutionary product to meet the government’s need.
The Daniel Defense RIS II allows the individual operator to free float the M203 grenade launcher without additional parts. As importantly, special tools are not required to mount the M203 grenade launcher. This was accomplished by integrating all of the needed parts to free float the M203 into the rail itself.

The Daniel Defense RIS II is to be used in conjunction with the MK12 Low Profile Gas Block.
The Daniel Defense RIS II free-floating Picatinny rail systems are designed to allow individual operator to quickly, and without special tools, mount M203 Grenade Launcher and precisely mount SOPMOD accessories to host weapon without effecting point of impact.
The Daniel Defense RIS II is an innovative upgrade to the M4 platform and is available for commercial purchase directly from Daniel Defense or any authorized distributor.

Precision CNC machined from Aircraft Grade Aluminun and Military Specification Type II Hard Coat Anodized in SOCOM approved Flat Dark Earth.

This is the most stable and versatile free floating rail I have ever installed. The strength of this system is unsurpassed by any other rail and you have the versatility of mounting the M203 if needed! The color is the best of the Flat Dark Earth versions on the market and the rail lettering is perfect! It’s slightly heavier than the Lite rail but more versatile.

This is my favorite rail system. Installation was straight forward and the rail is very sturdy. The only negative about this handguard is the fact that it is wider than it is tall (it is most likely this way to accept the M203). However, this can be compensated for by using large rail covers on the bottom rail and small ladder covers on the side rails. Hopefully Daniel Defense will sell the GL/SSC and GL/SSC FSP versions for 12.5″ barrels as well.
